NEW YORK (CNNMoney) -- Foreign expansion was the theme of the day on StockTwits Tuesday, after momentum juggernauts Netflix and Chipotle announced plans to expand their operations into foreign markets.
Netflix (NFLX) surprised investors by announcing expansion into 43 Latin American and Caribbean countries - far more than most expected. This fueled a nearly 6% gain and the stock is etching new all-time highs -- again.
Not to be left out, Chipotle (CMG) revealed plans to bring their organic fast Mexican food to Europe. Emboldened by a brief test in London, Chipotle is in talks to open another site there, as well as chains in Paris and Munich. Investors hungry for this news are also sending Chipotle to new all-time highs..
In other news, Microsoft (MSFT, Fortune 500) has entered into a deal with Chinese search engine Baidu (BIDU) to provide English search results. This is lending support to Microsoft gaining ground in territory where Google (GOOG, Fortune 500) has struggled.
