Trained as an engineer, Maguire was named to run the defense giant's space systems division in July 2006. She sells missile defense systems and military, civil, and commercial satellite equipment and services. The U.S. government accounted for 90% of last year's $8 billion in sales. A joint venture with Boeing to operate and manage NASA's space shuttle fleet is expected to improve margins.
