Tech reviewing used to be the reportorial redoubt of old, super-geeky guys who mainly used the job to shake down consumer electronics companies for free product. Not so anymore. Gizmodo, led by the uncharacteristically (for a Gawker site) affable Brian Lam, is a tech reviewing powerhouse, putting up several dozen reviews daily. It and Engadget are the Time and Newsweek of the gadget-review world -- though which is which is hard to figure. While Engadget was the frontrunner, Gizmodo is gaining fast -- and occasionally beating it. Age: 30
