The retailing giant has had well-publicized woes in the apparel business. But under Scott, Wal-Mart has been delving deeper into electronics. First came a deal with Skype to sell Internet phones, webcams and other VOIP gear at 1,800 of its locations. Now Wal-Mart has agreed to stock Dell PCs, a first for the direct-selling computer maker and a coup for Scott.
